Hendrickson’s Publishers and the German Bible Society have released “Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia: A Reader’s Edition”. This Hebrew Bible with vocabulary helps is similar to Zondervan’s “A Reader’s Hebrew Bible” in that it footnotes all of the infrequently occurring words in the text and provides English glosses and parsing information for those rare words in those footnotes. It contains some text-critical information but nothing like the apparatus of the official BHS. Its text is not exactly the same as the fifth corrected edition of BHS (1997) but is somewhat eclectic, taking into account the readings in Aron Dotan’s “Biblia Hebraica Leningradensia” and a “public-domain text”, which one might suspect to be the Westminster Leningrad Codex published by the Groves Center!
