Quick Update – Please pray

Posted in General at 4:13 pm by Karyn

UPDATE at 5 pm on Wednesday: Al is at the University of Pennsylvania hospital, where he is about to be admitted. The results of his MRI revealed that the brain tumor which was treated by gamma-knife in June has doubled in size; there were other smaller new tumors as well.

This is such a significant turn of events that Al will have brain surgery tomorrow to remove at least the largest tumor. The good news is that it is in a very accessible part of the brain.

Libbie will be posting something to Al’s blog at some point later today, please check back.

Please be in prayer for Al and his family over these next few difficult days.

Just wanted you to know that your friends (even though we have never met you) here in Portadown, Northern Ireland are praying. I had just checked the blog and when I saw your urgent request e-mailed our prayer groups with the news. Be assured there are folks here upholding you all in prayer.

    Al and Libbie,
Susie and I have prayed for Al’s redemption from this ordeal more faithfully than anything else in our lives–daily since the day it was announced to us. We are burdened more than ever now, and our prayers will increase in quantity and fervor for Al, you, and the kids. Al has given us great (and proper) hope, and we know that the Lord’s rod and staff are very near to you now. May our Shepherd’s nearness calm your fears.

    With love,

    ~Drew Matter
