Becky’s job search

Posted in From Al & Libbie, Prayer Requests at 11:40 am by Libbie

If you are checking in for information about Al’s radiation procedure yesterday, see the post below. This is just a quick prayer request.

Becky is graduating from college this Sunday and moving down to Philly. The job she was planning to work at over the summer while she looked for something more permanent fell through last week, so she will be scrambling to find a different job (summer-length or permanent). We know that the Lord has the situation well in hand and that he has just the right job in mind for her. We also know that he delights to answer his people’s prayers, so would you pray with us that he will lead her to it?

Please tell us what her degree is in & what sort of work she is looking for? You blog readers may have ideas.

    Hi Al and Libbie!
As always, my prayers are with you but I will add Becky as well. I pray this weekend is much enjoyable and relaxing for all of your family!
    much love,

Ps..Would Becky be interested in tutoring? The pay is pretty decent but I think it may just be for the summer–I’ll check on that.

In response to Jessie’s inquiry, Becky has majored in film and television studies with a concentration in animation. She has also done temp work in the past, mostly secretarial, so she does a mean photocopying and filing job. 🙂 At this point she would probably be glad to have any job that pays well enough to cover rent, insurance, loans…you know, and all those living expenses that suddenly hit when you leave college–if that doesn’t sound too desperate!
Thanks for asking, Jessie and Liz.

    Dear A and L,
We took you with us on our walk yesterday. Out of Otterton near Sidmouth in Devon, through a field of cows, across grass as green as the land of OZ, down a narrow path of red earth and by a field of wheat which looked like thick elvish hairdo uncombed in the wind, to the left was the ocean – deep blue going into deeper blue sky, and then the coast, cliffs coming down to the beach red, grey and white. sometimes we thought maybe we saw France, but probably not. a runner whizzed by , another lady with a dog that reminded us of Peaches, and the gulls soaring on thermals right at eye level playing the air like flutes – long beautiful low notes. there are lots of flowers in bloom pink clover and buttercups!!

We have been enjoying hearing African stories from hannah and eating on occasion Ugandan dishes she has prepared.we have also been doing bible studies by harvey conn on poverty and social justice and discussing it with hannah. David has been sleeping somewhat better so we are thankful.
We ache with you and pray . Love Nan for the Powlisons
