Surgery
Just wanted to let you know that Alasdair had surgery on his broken arm yesterday, and that it went smoothly and all seems to be going well. The operation was late yesterday afternoon, and they did a nerve block as well as general anesthesia, so the pain has only started to set in in the last hour. It’s becoming distinctly uncomfortable, but hopefully the Vicodin will help. It’s good to have the surgery done so that the healing can begin.
Thanks for caring about us all–
Libbie
PS: Update as of 5:30 pm. The pain is pretty intense, and Alasdair, Lauren and Becky are on a 7 or 8 hour drive to a wedding in northern New Hampshire, so I know he would appreciate your prayers!

Praying for safety for all, and that Alasdair will be able to manage the pain.

Dear Libbie,
I appreciated reading all of your recent news. I think of Al at Harvey Cedars also – I actually have a picture of Rachel and Jake at a table in the dining room with Al standing in the background. I also remember that it was Al that Jake was talking to when i noticed his uneven smile, facial droop that was basically one of the indications of the recurrence of his tumor. Are you going to the conference this year. I’m still not sure but I’m thinking of going for at least part of the week. I’m not sure what Rachel is doing, she is still exploring summer job options. I miss WBS and getting together every week. Thanks for keeping up the blog. Rachel is just starting with the wedding circuit. A couple from Crosseekers, the Christian group Rachel goes to at Carnegie Mellon, is getting married this summer – so it’s starting for me too. Jake went to I think 6 weddings during his last year, and he was an usher at one of them, after HCBC. It was fun shopping for the wedding gifts with him. He always picked the classiest stores from the registry, picking Crate and Barrel over Target! Donna B.
