Posted in From Al & Libbie, Updates at 11:36 pm by Libbie

Hello, all. Not much to add to the updates below. Al gradually felt less and less groggy this evening and loved having a visit from our four children. He even made some pretty funny jokes. His head is sore, not surprisingly, but the staff there is excellent and on top of things, and hopefully some medication will help him sleep decently tonight.

We are grateful for all your thoughts and prayers. It is precious and humbling.

I’d love to write more, but I’m beat and about to fall into bed. Tomorrow I’ll actually have a real look at this blog site and comments. Meanwhile, thank you for your love. We are blessed!

Dear Al and Libbie, just wanted you to know how encouraged I am to know you. My 13 year old Jessica came home from Friends Camp talking about how God blessed her through the friendship of your children. Jessica had not known about Christ until several months ago and this weekend was a landmark in her spiritual journey. Your daughter shared tears with her expressing the love of Jesus. In this very difficult world we live in, it is SO IMPERATIVE to know people that share their experiences of understanding how ALIVE God is. Thank you for this blog, for turning our eyes to the Living God that has made it clear that He will never leave us or forsake us. That He will go before us and be our rear guard, as we walk into eternity together!! I’m praying for your energy and joy to be incomprehensible, unimaginable and immeasurable. May the Truths of our Savior drive you,the arms of His people embrace you and laughter be your medicine.

Because He Gave His Life, Eileen Barclay

    Dear Libbie,

Thanks for the updates: it was shocking to learn about the sudden treatment needed
for Alan. Now I feel the effects of the distance, we live literally on different continents. But the messages make me feel close. You, who has to do a lot of things, Alan and your children are in our prayers. In a way we do not really understand God travels with you this hard path.
I am perfectly happy with the fact that while we do the praying, Alan is capable still of
making jokes. The Spirit must love that, I think,

    Dear Al,
It seems like every time I visit you, you end up in the hospital!!! Sorry about that brother. But maybe the Lord was just trying to give you strength through me for the challenges ahead. All I know is that you are and always will be a very important person in my life. You led me to the Lord! Because of you, the Lord has allowed me to lead many others to Him. I continue to pray for your healing, but Eowyn may very well be right that He has other plans for you.

You are a leader, Al. You are leading us all into the kingdom. May God be praised…
